THEFT OF MONEY
A sentence:-/of three; months' imprisonment with hard labour was imposed upon Patrick Graham Kennedy, a labourer, aged 18, who pleaded guilty in the Magistrate's Court' today, before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., to the theft of £4 in money. ':■ The complainant in the matter and the accused, said Detective-Sergeant P. Doyle, who prosecuted, were employed in the same office and were working at night. The complainant hung his coat up with £4 in notes in the pocket, and at 1 a.m., when he took possession of the coat, the money | was missing. "The accused was interviewed yesterday by Detectives R. Tripney and'P. Smeaton, arid admitted that he had taken the money. He stated that he had given £2 to a friend, and had spent the remainder on cigarettes and in entertaining friends.
Ramsey Wilson Ltd., auctioneers, will sell furniture, pianos, etc., at their auction rooms (opp. Regent Theatre) at 1.30 p.m. tomorrow.
