TRAINS DELAYED
SLIP ON MAIN LINE

NEW PLYMOUTH, July
Rail • traffic between Stratford and Taumarunui was interrupted today by a slip on the line between Tangarakau and Haeo. The morning express from Auckland to New Plymouth had passed before the ,slip came down, but the express from New Plymouth to Auckland tonight was delayed more than an hour at Stratford. The slip occurred about 10 o'clock this morning, and two goods trains, running between Stratford and Taumarunui, were cancelled ..and two others delayed for several "hours before the line was cleared. Two work trains were sent to the scene from Wanganui, one via Marton and the other via Stratford, and the line was clear tonight.
