FLASHLIGHT OUTSTANDING
Flashlight was the outstanding horse in the Dromore Steeplechase fiftld at the Ashburton County Racing Club's Meeting last Saturday. He was in front practically all the way. It was a popular win for Mr. J. H. Grigg, whose horse Streamline took the race a year ago.
Flashlight also won at Washdyke last month, when he suffered an injury to one of his legs, but as he has made a good recovery he may go on now to better deeds. He will be at Trentham next week and his racing there should help his preparation for the Grand National. .
Monastic gave a good showing, finishing on strongly, and he was the only opponent to make the semblance of a contest with the winner at the finish. It was his first race for a year and he had not jumped a brush fence in the interval.
, Chile threatened danger five furlongs from home, only to fade out before the straight was reached. Despite this showing it would not surprise to find him doing better in the role shortly. •
