DANCE AND CARD PARTY

There was a large gathering in the Brooklyn Returned Soldiers Social Hall, when the members of the local association held a dance. Mr. A. G. Troughton was master of ceremonies, and novelty dances varied the programme and caused much amusement. Mrs. D. Walker and Mrs. S. E. Bircham were the hostesses and among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. Hmsley, Mr. and Mrs. Innes, Mr. and Mrs. Anton, Mr. and Mrs. Jukes (Lower Hutt), Mr. and Mrs. Pell. Mr. and Mrs. Glen, Mr. and Mrs. Drewer. Mr. and Mrs. G. Rait, Mr. and Mrs. Troughton. Mrs. Wilkinsbn, and Miss B. Wilkinson, Mrs. Smith; Misses Trim, R. Harris, S. Greig, J. Greig. Guthrie, Peggy Hood,' Munn, F. Alexandra, and Earsman; and Messrs. Ryan, Trim, W Davison, Harrison, Guthrie, Bircham, D. Walker. E. Troughton, R. Ranger, E. Courtney, T. Innes (Miramar), B. Green, Cooper, and Wells. There was also an exceptionally good attendance at the weekly card Darty of the Kilbirnie auxiliary branch of the Returned Soldiers' Association, held at the clubrooms. Bay Road, last night. .The evening passed very pleasantly. Mrs. H. Wngley and Mr. S. Taylor were successful at bridge; Mrs. Lauchlan and Mr. A. McCaul at "500"; and competitions were won by Messrs.
