NED CUTTLE FIT
MERIAL MAKES PROGRESS
(Special from "Hurry On.")
NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day. The cold rain that fell yesterday morning interfered with the track work at New Plymouth, the majority of the horses being restricted to serviceable tasks. The inside grass and the course proper were available, the flags being well out. Ned Cuttle was sent twice round at a good half pace. He had been galloped over a circuit on Monday, running the last six furlongs in lmin 20£ sec. He is in capital order for Trentham.
Advance Plane and Merial were let off with easy tasks. They had also galloped on Monday, when they covered five furlongs attractively in lmin 7sec. Merial has made good progress lately, and Advance Plane has gone on the right way since winning at Otaki.
! R. Johnson will probably leave for Trentham with Ned Cuttle, Merial, and Advance Plane at the weekend.
Though Red Sand and Even Money were entered at Marton they will not make the trip. H. Dulieu's only representative at the meeting will be Chat.
With the approach of the Combined Hunts' Meeting at New Plymouth in the early spring, hunters are beginning to make their appearance in the stables. Glenvane recently joined H. Dulieu's string, and H. Gray has Lib-1 eral Lad, a likely-looking sort by Taitoru's sire Sandslar. BARNUM DESTROYED United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.
