"Flowers, flowers, all the way," will represent the scheme of the Plunket Society for the annual ball at the Town Hall on July 8, which is being anticipated with so much pleasure. Mrs. Gerald Robieson and Mrs. Bassant are designing the plan of decor, and it should, under their charge, be something very special, and well worth seeing, even for non-dancers. 'Many people are busy making flowers, and there are other decorative effects in connection with the work which will add to the ensemble considerably. There will be "ships of flowers," these being painted in green, cream, and gold, and bearing baskets of flowers, at the entrance of the halL On the stage also there will be more ships, with masses of blooms, with a background of delicate green which will show up the flowers in Nature's own style. Ballets are, always a feature of the Plunket Society's ball. This year there are to be two, one trained by Miss Estelle Beere and one by Mrs. Philip Cooke. The ballets will repeat the floral note of the ball, but beyond that the scheme and the dresses are to remain a secret. Miss Beere's is entitled "The Golden Lotus" ballet, the girls who will take part being: Misses Joyce Watson, Ngaire Horton, Cora Colton, Joan Lester, Patricia and Barbara, Gillespie, Dorothy Collins, XJecil O'HallOran, Patricia Reade, Patricia McNamara, Nona Saunders, and Helen Eglinton.- Mrs; Cooke has designed a "Magnolia? ballet The girls will be: Misses Patsy Ashbolt, Jan Sloman, Margaret McLayj Marjory Vause, Judy Allen, Marjorie Hutton, Dorothy Key, Ruth Skerman, Betty Reading Dorothy Buck, Jill Moodie, and Stella Massingham.
