LABOUR IN WAR

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—l shall be glad if you will allow me to correct one sentence of your report of the meeting at Kilbirnie. I am reported as having asked "if the interrupters could deny that most of the members of the Labour Party had not served in the war." I did not say this. To be quite frank I consider that no man has a right to criticise another man for not having gone to the war without having a very intimate knowledge of that man's circumstances. The criticism I ventured was directed against what was done in New Zealand by those who stayed behind.—l am, etc.,

CLAUDE H. WESTON.
