SLIPS INTERRUPT TRAFFIC
(By T«le?raph—Press Association.)
NEW PLYMOUTH, June 21,
Heavy rain in different parts of Taranaki last night caused minor interruption to road and railway traffic through slips on the Stratford-Main Trunk railway. A slip occurred between Pohokura and Whangamomona, and traffic was disorganised for about four hours until the debris was cleared away. The road over the Strathmore Saddle was also blocked by a slip which was not cleared until this afternoon. Road blockage through small slips also occurred on the main north road in the Uruti Valley, but the trouble was not serious, and the road was reopened early in the day. During the morning the road was under water in a few low-lying places, ibut flooding soon subsided.
