A BANE IN HOSPITAL
POLITICAL ADDRESSES
DIRECTOR-GENERAL PROTESTS (Special to the "Evening Post.") PALMERSTON N., This Day. A complaint about political addresses being given to patients in the Palmerstbn North hospital was received at yesterday's meeting of the Hospital Board from the DirectorGeneral of Health, Dr. M. H. Watt, who added that in the particular instance brought to his notice the officer in charge had granted permission for the address in the belief that he was acting in accord with precedent. It was not in the interests of patients generally that such facilities be granted, particularly as it was difficult to set a limit to them.
The chairman, Mr. J. A. Nash, stated that although he was a political candidate he was quite in accord with Dr. Watt. Every opportunity for listening to .political*, addresses was given to patients by wireless. •-t-The.boardijdecided to comply with Dr. Watt's Suggestion.
