REBEL AIR RAIDS
SEVERAL CITIES ITALIAN AIRMEN'S MISTAKE LONDON, June '4. Four insurgent planes raided Barcelona and caused a considerable amount of damage. Insurgent planes bombed Tarragona, killing 15 persons and wounding 45, and destroying 15 houses. A Madrid message states that an insurgent raid on Alicante set flre to the British steamer Maryad, killing an English intervention observer and three members of the crew. An engineer, A. P. Williams, jumped overboard in an attempt to escape, but was drowned. In a rebel air raid on Val de Uxo, south-west of Castellon, 16 people were killed and 30 wounded. Two Italian planes landed at Madrid in mistake for Guadalajara. The pilots, who are Italians, have been taken prisoner. Senor del Vayo, the Spanish Government's * delegate to the League ol Nations, has invited British and French military attaches to visit the bombed areas in order to verify the absence of military objectives and publicly report on the recent air raids.
