TRAIN'S NARROW ESCAPE (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WHANGAREI, This Day. A large boulder, believed to hav* been deliberately placed on the railway line a quarter of a mile south of Kaikohe, almost brought disaster to the north-bound express last/evening. The boulder crumpled the cowcatcher. It was of sufficient size to' derail the train had the driver not reduced speed in time.
