WEEKEND REUNION
The Native Department and the Ikaroa District Maori Land Board, Wellington, entertained officers of the Aotea District Maori Land Board, Wanganui, during the weekend. The visitors, under the leadership of Mr. and Mrs. Andrews, were welcomed on
Friday evening by Mr. H. S. King, Deputy Native Trustee, and Judge R. N. Jones, and were entertained at a table tennis tournament by the staffs of the local offices. On Saturday the broadcasting studios and other places of interest were visited, and in the evening a dance was held at the Majestic Cabaret. At this function opportunity was taken to present the visitors with the Aotea Rose Bowl in recognition of their victory at the table tennis tournament the previous evening. In making the presentation Mr. Kingi Tahiwi referred to the immense value of such social visits, which, he said, did much to foster a soirit of good will and friendship between the staffs of the Head Office and District Offices. Mr. W. J. Andrews ' suitably replied and expressed his Pleasure, on behalf of the visitors, at ! being able to return with the treasured trophy and his party's appreciation of " the manner in which they had been 1 visitors, who returned to Wanga- ' nui on Sunday afternoon, were Mr. ' and Mrs Andrews, Mr. and Mrs. Leach, .* m JSd Mrs. Cannan, Mioses D.
