PARISHIONERS MEET
.. The annual meeting of parishioners of All Saints' Church, Kilbirnie, was held recently in the' Parish Hall. The Vicar, the Rev. W. Langston, presided over a very representative gathering;
Reviewing the past year, Mr. C. T. Cox, vicar's warden, spoke of the progress that had .been made in all branches of parish ,-vvork and thanked the parishioners for their loyal support. Reference was made to the fine response that had been made for new subscribers to the envelope system of. giving, and also to the large increase in the congregations. The vicar said although he had only been in the parish six days he felt that both he and Mrs. Langston had come to a parish tHat was a happy family, and,said he was looking? forward to his work amongst the people. Mr. Langston said he had .to congratulate the vestry on its foresight in purchasing a fine pipe organ, which would be a decided acquisition to the church. Councillor Huggins, Synod representative, said he wished to congratulate the parish on the choice of its new vicar. He had known Mr. Langston for. some time, and felt that the people had secured a worthy successor to Canon Davies. The vicar nominated Mr. Cecil T. Cox as his warden, and Mr. H. W. Pilcher was re-elected people's warden. The following were elected to the vestry:— Messrs. G. P. Anderson, W. F. C. Balham, W. Denby, A. A. McCaul, F. H. Porter, A. Ramsay, A. E. Sharp, F; V. Sanderson, G. H. Tanner, and L. Hough. Mr. J. L. Arcus, F.P.A., N.Z., was reelected auditor, and Messrs. H. A. Huggins and Cecil T. Cox were elected synodsmen. ,
The meeting passed votes of thanks to the Sunday school teachers and all workers for their help during the year.
