HEAVY ENTRY OF RUN
CATTLE

FEILDING, April 29. _ There was a particularly heavy yarding of run cattle at the Feeding sale today, about 1600 head of all ages being on hand. For good fresh-condi-tioned lots splendid sales were.made at up to £11 I7s, this being paid for some Pakihikura four-year Hereford pullocks. Backward-conditioned lines were hard of sale. Fat sheep were in improved condition, and made satisfactory prices, and for all other stock quotations were at late rates. Prices were as follows:—
Fat sheep: Extra prime wethers 32s g3> Prime 28s to 295, lighter 24s to 26s 8a; b.t two-tooths, 25s 3d to 28s lOd; extra choice lambs, 275-to 295; prime sorts 25s to 26s 3d, average lots 23s 2d & 2f? £ d> hA M 16s to 20s: best ewes 235, lighter 15s lOd to 18s 6d. Store cattle: Weaner Jersey heifers, £•* lls o2- £- 2 15s'< empty forward heifers, £2 10s to £3 17s; boner cows, heavy £4 to £4 7s 6d, others £2 10s to £3 17s 6d; potter bulls, to £7 12s 6d; fat and forward four-year Hereford bullocks, £11 8s to £11 17s- 20----month P.A. steers, £6 6s to £6 14s; Red Poll steers, £6 6s; 2J-year P.A. steers, poor conditioned, £6 2s 6d to £6 18s; 20-month P.A. heifers, £3 19s to £4 2s; forward Hereford cows, £4 to.£4^; empty P.A. cows, £5 to £5 4s; lighter conditioned, £3 16s to £4 15s; P.A. weaner heifers, £2 15s to £4 6s; P.A. weaner steers, £3 14s to £5 10s; Hereford heifers, £2 15s; 18----month steers, £6 10s; 18-month Ked Poll steers, £6 6s; P.A. cows, r.w P.A. bull, £3 18s 6d; cows and calves, £4 14s.
Dairy cattle: Springing heifers, £4 10s; springing cows, £2. Fat cattle: Prime P.A. heifers, £9 2s 6d to £9 10s; light Shorthorn, £6 15s; Jersey steers, best £10, others £6 10s to £8 2s 6d; Holstein cows, £4 17s 6d to £6 12s 6d.
Poultry: Hens, Is 3d to 2s 6d; pullets, 4s to 5s 3d; cockerels, Is 7d to 2s 7d; ducks, 2s Id to 2s 3d.
Pigs: Weaners, 3s to 12s 6d; slips, 4s to 14s,
