PAEKAKARIKI CLUB
The tournament conducted by the : Paekakariki -', Golf Club. on their links during the Easter i holidays was' well patronised. Competition was keen and pood golf resulted. A feature of the tournament was the success of the younger players. The principal event of the tournament was the Easter handicap, a knockout match played on handicap, won by A. Smitfi (10).
In addition there were three flights played on handicap, and these resulted in wins for N. Ewart (12), G. Grimstone (16), and J. Sigley (21). , Detailed results are as follows:—
Friday, qualifying round, 18 holes — L. McDonald, 82, 14—68; A. I. Murray, 78, 6—72; R. Perkins, 87, 15—72, and J. D. Bringans, 90, 18—72. Saturday, Fourball Bogey.—R. Scott and F. C. McNeil, 6 up, and J. Smith and R. Perkins, 6 up, tied. Stableford bogey: R. Browne, 38 points; R. Perkins, 37 points. Sunday, Canadian Foursome. —J. Smith and R. Perkins, 80, 11—69, won on a count back from F. Kember and J. Bringans, 76, 7—69. Eighteen-holei
individual bogey: F. H. Kember, 3 up; G. Grimstone, 2 up. Monday, 18-hole Medal.—F. Smith, 81, 14 —67, won on a count back from J. Sigley, 88, 21—67. Fourball bogey: K. G. Twiss and B. F. Lynch, 6 up. The results of the knock-out tournament were as follows:—Easter handicap: A. Smith, L. McDonald (runnerup); first flight, N. Ewart, R. Browne (runner-up); second flight, G.
