CHARGE OF THEFT
On charges of stealing five wheels, tyres, and tubes, of a total value of £23 the property of Todd Motors, Ltd., and. of .'obtaining a car at Auckland, .valued at £295, by means of a valueless cheque, Albert Cyril Register, a sign writer, aged; 22,: appeared before Mr. A. M. Goulding, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today. Detective-Ser-geant; P. Doyle said; that there were several charges pending of false pretences in Wellington, Auckland, and Napier, and that prior to his arrest by Detective G. Hogan the accused had made arrangements to leave the country. ■'■....■, A remand until Wednesday was granted, and bail was fixed in the accused's own recognisance in the sum of £100, with a surety of that amount.
