(British Official Wireless.) (Received April'X 12.45 p.m.) .. RUGBy K , : April .6.. - - Several questions "'. in" the. House 'of Commons referred to the Sino-Japanese; hostilities. The Under-Secretary v of Foreign Affairs, Mr. R. L. Butler, in answering,- said there had been no serious hostilities in-South China and consequently there was only minor interference with British interests there or at Hong Kong.- Such matters as had arisen had been the subject of representations. A certain measure of satisfaction had been obtained and several matters were still under, discussion.
Mr. Butler later said he was unable to give exact figures for details of the British claims against the Japanese Government, as they had not yet finally been determined. According to reports which had so far reached him, the amount at present was in the region of ' £300,000, and settlement would be'expected ~ as > soon as the claims had been thoroughly investigated. ,
