EASTER ; STOCK SALES
No fewer than forty colts, fillies, and geldings will be offered at the Easter trotting sales, to be conducted by Messrs. H. Matson and Co., and the sales promise to be one of the biggest yet held in the Southern Hemisphere. They will commence on Tuesday morning, April 19, when an offering from Mr. J. R. McKenzie's "Royden Lodge" will be submitted. About 25 horses will be auctioned, including mares bred to U. Scott, Rey de Oro, and Great Bingen, and also a number of young pacers and trotters by Gallant Knight and U. Scott
Durbar Lodge has sent forward a batch of 22 horses, including several brood mares which have been stinted to Wrack, Ciro, and Man o' War. This lot will be sold on Thursday, April 21. A good deal of interest is sure to be shown in the sale of stock from Mr. C. S. Donald's establishment, for the reason that several claim Jack Potts as their sire, and. this sire has been much to the fore of recent months. The sale will take place on Friday, April 22. .
