PIPE BAND CONTEST

MASTERTON, February 13,
The Wellington and Hawke's Bay district pipe band contest yesterday attracted an attendance of about 3000. The Ruahine Pipe Band was placed first in both the quickstep and the test selection and won the championship, Wellington Caledonians being runnersup; The results are as follows:-^-Quick-step: Ruahine, 1; Wellington Cal» donians, 2; Wairarapa College, 3. / Test selection: Ruahine, 1; Welling* ton Caledonians, 2; Manawatu Scottish, 3. -■;.• Drum-Majors' display: ManawatuScottish, 1; Ruahine, 2; Feilding Pipe Band, 3. ! 7::
