CHIPPER—FARRELL.
The wedding was solemnised recently at the Holy Name Church, Island Bay, of Noreen Mary, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. P. Farrell, Island Bay, to Huxley, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Chipper, also of Island Bay. The Rev. Father Joyce celebrated Nuptial Mass. The church was beautifully decorated for the occasion with mauve and pink hydrangeas and pink gladioli. Mrs. C. D. Wood, sis.ter of the bridegroom, was organist, and during the Mass, Mrs. Tracy sang "Aye Maria."
The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a slim-fitting dress of white satin cut on classical lines, and having a slight train. The neck was finished with a narrow edge of pleating, and the sleeves were full to the elbow and moulded to the wrist. Her veil, which was' lent by a friend, was held in place by a halo of orange blossom, and. she carried a sheaf of St. Joseph lilies. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Irene Chipper (twin sister of the bridegroom), and Mis Shona O'Brien (cousin of the bride), wearing pink floral organdie, the chief bridesmaid's. frock being made with a very full skirt, and the second ; bridesmaid's frilled from the waist. They had tight-fitting bodices with heart-shaped necks, and carried bouquets of pink roses and carnations to tone. They wore bandeaux of pink and silver flowers in their hair.
Mr. James O'Brien (cousin of the bridegroom) was best man. A reception was held; at the Golf Club tearooms, Wakefield Park. Owing to the illness of the bride's mother, the guests were received by Mrs. A. Alexander (aunt of the bride), wearing a black and white ensemble with a black hat. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations and roses. She was assisted by Mrs. A. Chipper (mother of the bridegroom), wearing a black lace frock, redingote style, and black straw hat. Her bouquet consisted of dark red roses and pansies.
When Mr. and Mrs. H. Chipper left for' a tour in the north, the bride was wearing a dusky pink dress with a navy redingote coat, navy hat, and navy accessories.
