CHINNOCK—BARRETT.
An evening wedding was celebrated at St. Giles Church, Kilbirnie, recently, when Grace Irene, youngest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. Barrett, of Wellington, was married to Albert James, son of Mrs. and the late Mr. A. Chinnock, of Miramar. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. Orange, the organ being pijyed by Mr. Spencer Cooper.
The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr. William Barrett, Pahiatua, wore a gown of ivory satin cut on classical lines, the close-fitting bodice, which fell softly in front, being fastened at the back with tiny buttons. The skirt fell to form a graceful train. A beautiful veil of ivory tulle was held in place by a halo of orange blossoms and pleated tulle. Her sheaf was of Christmas lilies. Miss Helen Wyatt was bridesmaid. She wore shell pink floral georgette, and carried a sheaf of gladioli and delphiniums. Little Lorna Pycroft, niece of the bride, looked charming in a frock of shell pink georgette. She carried a posy of hydrangeas in shades of pink and blue. The best man was Mr. H. Chinnock, brother of the bridegroom. As the bride was leaving the church she was presented with a horseshoe of satin and orange blossoms by little Rae Bromeley. A reception was held at the Air Port tearooms. Mrs. W. F. Pycroft, sister of the bride, wore an ensemble of moss green lace over georgette, and carried a posy of apricot carnations. She received the guests in the absence of the bride's mother, who is abroad. She was assisted by Mrs. Chinnock. mother of the bridegroom, wearing a navy blue ensemble, and carrying a posy of pink carnations. When Mr, and Mrs. Chinnock left by, car, the bride was wearing a navy tailored costume and a small toque with chin veil. Accessories were to tone.
