GOOD SALE AT FEILDING

(By Telegrash—Press Association.) j FEILDING, February 11. All classes of sheep met with a good sale today at Feilding despite a substantial yarding and the depressed state of tne wool market. Fat sheep were priced above export rates, this being due to the fact that the entry was rather short. The quality was very good. .Lambs sold well; up to 22s 6d being paid for an outstanding line of'ewe lambs, while good wether sorts were up to 18s Id. A fair penning of station cattle made good values, the majority being young and in good forward condition. Fat cattle were confined almost wholly to ex dairy lines, for which the demand was particularly active. All were sold. Quotations are as follows:— Fat sheep: Prime ewes, 21s 6d •to 23s 3d; good seconds, 18s. to 20s- . 9d; others, 16s to 17s 4d; extra prime maiden ewes, 27s to 28s; lighter, 25s 9d to 26s 3d; prime heavy wethers, 28s to 295; second grade, 26s to 26s 9d; best lambs, 235; second quality, 19s 6d .to 21s 6d; good hoggets, 245. Store sheep.—Well-grown b.f. lambs, 17s to 18s Id; smaller, 15s 3d to 16s 6d; culls, from 13s; good w.f. wether culls, 18s 3d to 19s 3d; medium sized, 16s 6d to 17s 9d; others, 11s 9d to 15s 3d; ewe lambs, extra good, 22s 6d; others, 13s to 16^ 5 and 6-year ewes, 20s Gd; aged 16s 9d. Store cattle.—Good 2-year Red Poll steers, £8 16s; Hereford, £8; very good - well-grown 18-month Hereford heifers, £6 2s to £6 11s; smaller, £5 '7s 6d to £5 18s 6d; heifer and calf, £4; heifers, r.w.b., £3 4s to £6; potter bulls, £2 2s 6d to £5 12s 6d. Fat cattle.—Ex-dairy cows,.best, £8 to £7 2s 6d; others, £4 to £5 10s; light prime P.A. heifers, £7; cows and vealers, £2 Is to £5 10s; mediumweight heifers, £5 17s 6d to £6 7s 6d. Dairy cattle.—Cows in ■ milk, £4; springing heifers, £8. Poultry.—Hens, lid to 3s 4d; cockerels, 'Is Id to 2s 7d; ducks, Is 6d to 3s; pullets. 5s 6d.
