Answering a question in the House of Commons arising out of a recent successful action in the courts for damages against the police, for wrongful arrest, the Home Secretary, Sir Samuel Hoare, described elaborate instructions which had been issued to the) police, and gave an assurance that adequate safeguards would be provided for preventing interference with.tin liberty of the subject. '
