ANNUAL COUNCIL MEETING

HASTINGS, November 18,
Lady Galway, Dominion president, presided at the annual council meeting of the Girl Guides1 Association held in Hastings yesterday. Her Excellency, commenting on the outstanding events of the year in connection with the Girl Guides' movement, Eaid that the Guides' Coronation message had given great pleasure to their Majesties. She also mentioned the generosity of Dr. and Miss Elinslie, who recently had given. a permanent camp site at Annat for Guide use.
Miss Ruth Herrick, Chief Commissioner for New Zealand, said she hoped to have a centenary camp for thousands of guides in 1940.
Lady Galway left this morning on her return to Wellington.
