EXAMPLE TO WORLD
PROPOSED TRADE TREATY
(Received November 19, 3.5 p.m.) I
LONDON, November 18,
The "Daily Telegraph," in a leader on the proposed Anglo-American trad* agreement, says:
"It will be heartily welcomed by all sides. It not only sets an impressiva example to the world at large, but makes a definite break in that vicioui circle of exclusiveness and restriction which has so grievously crippled international trade and hindered recovery after the post-war depression. ,
"The final bargain, if it is to hay« any virtue, must not leave aggrieved those whom it is designed to benefit, and for that result the best assuranc* on our side is that the Dominions b« taken into fullest. consultation frohi the first. Though existing privileged may be readjusted they should not ba sacrificed."
