LOCOMOTIVE CHASES HARE

BERLIN, November 18. The precept that it is forbidden to hunt hares with a locomotive was established in Brunswick by a Judge in a case in which an engine-driver was charged with wilfully setting a locomotive on a hare, thereby causing its death. . Passengers. gave evidence that the train lurched and stopped suddenly, and the driver jumped down and drew the body of a hare from the wheels.
After an extensive reading of the railway regulations and the game laws the Judge fined the driver 100 reichmarks for game trespass. .
