TIED IN SACK
BODY IN RESERVOIR
(Received November 18* H-20 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. What appeared to be a new sack murder was revealed near Mayborough, 112 miles north-west of Melbourne. The body of an elderly unidentified man, tied in a sack weighted with stones, was recovered from the local reservoir. There was a gaping injury in the man's head. His legs were tied in two places and a beret was pulled over the head. The body had been in the water for some time. '(*.„# After • post-mortem examination of the body the police discounted the theory of foul play. Death was due to drowning, and the man's wounds were not caused by violence.
