The Wellington- Diocesan Board of Trustees (Church of England) Empowering Bill was read a second time- : and referred to a Committee of Selection. ." '■■ , '; Mr. A. G. A. Sexton (Independent; Franklin) gave notice to ask. the Min-. ister of. Agriculture (the Hon. W, Lee Martin) whether, in view of the acute shortage of farm labour in the Dominion and the apparently considerable amount of farm labour offering in Australia, he would arrange for the fares, of suitable men to. be advanced by the Government to bring them to New Zealand, such fares to be collected out of wages subsequently earned. • , - . : - ,; :'.:-. ESTIMATES CONSIDERED. The House proceeded to discuss the following classes of Estimates: —Public Service Commissioners' Office, External Affairs Department," Agricultural Department, Lands and Survey Department, Discharged Soldiers' Settlement Account, Land for Settlements Account, Maintenance ;of Public Works and Services ' Account, Electoral jpepartment. Printing arid .Stationery Department, Mines' Department, State.'Coa! Mines Account, Justice' and Prisons ■.Depart ments,. and Crown Law Office.
