PRESENTATION TO MISS GRIEG

Light streamed on to bowls of stately irises, Iceland poppies, and blue and pink lupin and made golden patterns with their shadows az they stood on the stage of the Central Hall at Wellington Girls' College, Pipitea Street, last night. There was a very large gathering of old girls present to do honour to their former principal, Miss V. M. Grieg, who will retire at the end of this year after a term of twelve years as headmistress of the college. Though primarily an old girls' function, there were present guests representative of other educational spheres, members of the college staff, and the prefects and pro-prefects of the school.
