WEDDING

SHEPPARD—HAGGITT.

\ i A pretty wedding took place on Saturday evening at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Karori, when Gwenyth Emily, younger. daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. C. S. Haggitt, of Maori Hill, Dunedin, was married to Stanley, eldest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Newson Sheppard, Devonport, Auckland. The ceremony was performed by the Rt. Rev. Dean Haggitt, of Nelson (uncle of the bride), assisted by the Rev. F. M. Kempthorne (St. Mary's Church). Mr. Lawrence Haggitt officiated at the organ.

The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr. Enrol Haggitt, wore a simple gown of Chantilly lace, made with corselet bodice with square neck and medici collar, and long Windsor sleeves finished with tiny buttons. Her flowing veil of Brussels net was held in place with a small halo of orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of azaleas; rosebuds, and carnations.

The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Alec Murdoch, as matron of honour, whose frock was of wood hyacinth blue chiffon de soire. made in Victorian style with soft, full skirt. The square neck and hemline had a ruffle silhouette scattered With pink roses. She wore a blue tulle halo with latticed crown of velvet. Her bouquet was of posy of abutilons and azaleas in shades me-hots.

Mr. Ron Sheppard (brother of the bridegroom) was best man.

After the' ceremony a reception was held at the Kelburn Kiosk. The guests were received by the bride's mother, who wore an ensemble of black figured satin beaute cut on slim-fltting lines, with a finger-tip coatee in semi-tailored style, finished at the neck with a posy of hand-made French flowers. Her small black hat was finished with flowers and stiff veil. She carried a posy of abutions and azaleas in shades of apricot. The bride travelled hi a brown tunic suit with hat to tone and carried a smart American handbag.

Mr. and Mrs. Sheppard's home will be in Auckland.
