FOOTBALLER'S DEATH

VERDICT AT INQUEST

(By. Telegraph—Press Association.)

WHANGAREI, This Day.

The observation that it would be wise for football authorities to formulate a rule to prevent the retvtrn to the field of players who suffered head injuries, was made by the Coroner, Mr. G. H. Moorish, when giving his verdict at the resumed inquest into the death of Angus Colin McLean, who died on August! following an injury in a football match between Waipu juniors and Mareretu. The verdict was that McLean died from head injuries received accidentally when playing football. The Coroner remarked that witnesses were Unanimous that the game was cleanly fought. There was no evidence to suggest that McLean was struck by a fist other than a statement by the deceased's father on August 26.
