LOWER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL « The monthly meeting of.the Lower Hutt Borough Council was held last •Evening. There were present Mr. J W Andrews (Mayor), and Councillors R. M. Russell, M. Macaskill, P. The works committee reported that it had before it a request from the Wellington City Council, asking if the Lower Hutt Council was prepared to forgo its agreement to supply water to Eastbourne. The committee was awaiting the result of a conference before making any recommendations. The reserves committee reported having arranged with the Hutt District Cricket Club for the use of the Recration Ground for cricket on the same terms as those obtaining last a rental of £100 for the season for the use of six match wickets and three practice wickets. The Hutt Valley Cricket Association had been granted three wickets on the Naenae Reserve, two at Trafalgar Park, and one * at Bell Park for the forthcoming season, at the same rental as last year, lis per wicket per playing Saturday.
