KARORI MOTHERS' CLUB

A most successful plain and fane dress party was held on Saturday las by the Mothers' Club at Karori. It wa very largely attended and the judg had a very difficult tark awarding th prizes, as the costumes were both beau tiful and ingenius.

After the "grand march" the childre were entertained by the pupils froi Mrs. Green's kindergarten with tw playettes, "The Three Bears" and "Th Teddy Bear's Picnic." A recitation wa given by Priscilla Bull, entitled "Th Plunket Baby," composed by. Mr; Green. This was very much enjoyed.

Afternoon tea was served,' audit little ones were entertained with game etc. Each child was given an i< cream and a balloon.

FAREWELL TO MRS. G. SEER!

Mrs. George Seers, who will be lea' ing for England shortly, has been tt guest of honour at many farewe parties recently, and yesterday afte noon Mrs. Bruce Eennie held-a "Ma] Jong" party at her home, Lancast* Street, Karori. A smart navy blue an white frock was worn by the hostes Mrs. Seers was, dressed in an ice-bk ensemble with a black hat and acce sories, and a silver fox fur. The oth< guests were Mrs. E. H. M. Luke, Mr P. Wrigley, Mrs. F. Bradley, Mrs. V M. Luke, Mrs. G. Bailie, Mrs,. G. Sprinj hail, Mrs. B. Mills, Mrs. E. G. Martii Mrs. J. Plimmers, Mrs. Mead Walwortl and Mrs. R. McDowall. The game was played in the drawini room, which was bedecked with paste shaded Iceland poppies, and tea ws served in the dining-room. The latt« room has a white wall and 'cherr; coloured velvet curtains, and the tab] was very attractively decorated 1 match. An ecru lace cloth covered th table, and as a centre-piece there wei cherry candles in tall silver candl sticks grouped about a crystal bov filled with deep cherry-coloure anemones.
