The Trentham pair, Deficit and Omarere, are both working along satisfactorily, and on a firm track the latter particularly is a possibility. Dorado, from the Hazoor stable,'ran last at Otaki, but he showed speed out on the track till the straight and should go further this time. Mister Quex may need a rare or two before being able to measure off open class, though, with nothing known about his recent progress, he cannot be ruled out.
