UNEMPLOYMENT
FUND
SUPERANNUATION SCHEME
It is learned on the best authority that when the National Superannuation Bill is brought down next year it will provide for the elimination of the Uriemployme.nt Fund by incorporation in the Superannuation Fund. Another possibility is that the present unemployment tax will disappear in name and become part of the contribution to the superannuation fund. On that basis it is likely to be increased. :
At the present time the unemployment fund is providing benefits for 8499 men who are incapable of doing any class of work, and it was stated authoritatively today that the fund would continue to cgrry these men until the superannuation legislation had been passed. The Unemployment Fund had, in fact, become closely allied to a benefit fund, and would ultimately be merged with , the Superannuation Fund.
