CHINESE PROTEST
AMERICAN ARMS EMBARGO
(Received September 18, 10.20 a.m.) WASHINGTON, September 17. China has formally protested to America against the embargo on shipment of arms to the Far East It is understood that the Minister of
Foreign Affairs (Mr. Wang Chung-hui) told the State Department that China ' considered that the order would aid Japan and injure China. SAN PEDRO, September 17. Sixteen aeroplanes consigned to China were, unloaded from the Gov-ernment-owned ship Wichita in pursuance >i President Roosevelt's order that no ships owned by the United States Government should transport arms to China and Japan.
The Maritime Federation earlier pr«» vented the refuelling of the Wichita.
