FIREARMS IN PLACE OF TRUNCHEONS

The Chancellor, Herr Hitler, declaring that it is now impossible to beat the people's backs as if they were barbarians, proudly drew the attention of 3000 police appearing at the Nuremberg Congress for the first time to the abolition of rubber truncheons, "the hated symbol of the November Republic." The police ordinarily carry revolvers and bayonets, and on exceptional occasions rifles. ,
