CORONER'S VERDICT

AUCKLAND, September 10.

An inquest into the death of Mrs. Winifred Jane Smith, aged 45, who was found dead in a bath at her home at Herne Bay, was held before the Coroner (Mr. F. K. Hunt).

1 Mrs. Smith's husband, Edward Smith, chemist, said that when he, returned home from church on Sunday, September 5, with his son and daughter, he found his wife lying in the bath with her head submerged. Her clothes were folded on a chair and the taps were turned off. Mrs. Smith had been in good health.

A verdict was returned .of accidental drowning.
