GOVERNOR HOBSON

AUCKLAND CEREMONY

(fly Telegraph—Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, September 10.

The thirteenth annual pilgrimage of Auckland citizens was made today to the graveside of New Zealand's first Governor, Captain William Hobson, who was laid to rest in the Symonds Street Cemetery 95 years ago.

Fitting homage was paid by a large gathering, including many school children, 25 of whom laid wreaths on the grave. An appropriate feature was the attendance of an escort of Royal Marines, a bugler sounding the "Last Post" during the ceremony.
