SKIING AT KOSCIUSKO

SYDNEY, September 9.

The New Zealand ski team at Mount Kpsciuskp spent the day in slalom practice in the region of Pulpit Rocic and Trapyard Creek, and also in doing a haka for newsreel photographers. Their smart black and white uniforms and Austrian hats were generally admired.

The, langlauf was held this morning over a 10-mile course. A warm wind was blowing and the spring snow was soft and slow. The competitors were timed at the halfway mark by shortwave wireless. There were seven entries, six of which were from Ne\v South Wales, and the other from Tasmania. Victoria did not enter.

New South Wales won the interState match, the result being:—F. Kaaten, lh 29min 39sec, 1; K. Break-, spear, lh 33min 3see, 2; S. Grace, 3; W. Pattinson. 4; L. Bligh, 5.

If possible, the Australian championlips will start to-morrow.
