SISTERS ENTERTAINED

The Misses Jean and Doris Parlane, who will leave for Sydney on aepember 17, were entertained at a bright and happy party given in their honour by Mr. and Mrs. Wallis Jackson at their home at Hataitai. The musicroom and sun porch, where bridge and "monopoly" were played, were gay with daffodils and poppies, attractively arranged. • A savoury supper was served in the breakfast-room, when the Misses Parlane thanked the hostess (who was assisted by her daughter Lesley) for making available the opportunity of bidding farewell to their friends. After supper Misses Beresford and M. Cook at the piano played for community singing and dancing, which concluded a very happy evening. Misses Parlane received many useful gifts for which they returned thanks to all present. The guests were: Captain and Mrs. C. C. Bullock. Mr. and Mrs. L.
