SPRINGBURN SEAT

(Received September 9, 10 a.m.) . LONDON, September 8. The Springburn (Glasgow) by-elec-tion caused by the death of Mr. G. D. Hardie (Labour) was won by his widow, with 14,859 votes. Mr. A.. D. Maclnnes Shaw (Nationalist) polled 8881 votes. The late Mr. Hardie, who gained the seat at the last General Election, polled 20,286 votes, and his Conservative opponent, Mr. J. McNicol, 11,859.
