Summer and winter sportsmen met on a mutual pleasure ground last i night when the Petone Rugby Football Club were hosts at a "good will ! dance" arranged in compliment to the | Petone Boating Club, whose senior four (winners of the New Zealand championships held at Akarpa early this year) are to' represent New Zealand in the British Empire Games at Sydney at the beginning of 1938. The dance was held in the Boating Club's premises, and drew a happy throng of members and friends, who were well entertained by the joint committees of the RUgby Club. The ladies' committee consisted of Mesdames J. Price, A. Miller, C. Green, J. Spence, A. Elvines, and J. Martin, and the men's committee1 of Messrs. A. Henry (club' secretary), A. Miller, C. Peterson, J. Martin, W. Sweeney, J. Perkins, and W. Lark. Mr. L. Whitley was M.C. The guests of honour were the senior four—Mr. O. N. Clayton (who was accompanied by Mrs. Clayton, wearing, floral cloque), Mr. W. Rigby (with Mrs. Rigby, in peacock blue crepon), Mr. K. Boswell, and Mr. A. Hope.
