Great interest, continues to be taken here in Friday's conference on safety of shipping in the Mediterranean. So far replies accepting the invitations issued by the British and French Governments have been received from Egypt, Bulgaria, and Rumania.

It is generally believed here that strong action to suppress piracy will be taken by the conference on the basis of proposals which the British Government is prepared to make to the Powers which join in these discussions. It is expected that the conference will be one of the principal topics at the meeting of Cabinet tomorrow. The Foreign Secretary leaves for Geneva on Thursday.
