FERRIER BEATS WILLIAMS
SYDNEY, September 7.
In interstate golf matches played today, New South Wales won both the amateur and professional teams' tournaments and also retained the Vicars Shield.
Lively interest was taken in the contest between J. Ferrier and the young Victorian champion, H..Williams. The pair had met six times up to their match today, Williams winning on all occasions, but today Ferrier scraped home, 1 up, on the eighteenth green.
