FOUNDER OF E.S.U. DEAD

Sir George Mills McKay, co-founder and honorary treasurer of the English Speaking Union, died recently after a brief illness. He would have celebrated his sixtyreighth, birthday the next-day. During the last eighteen years Sir George devoted much of his time to the affairs of the English Speaking Union;"wherein he continued to take an active interest. His widow survives.! Sir George,;who received his knighthood: in 1922, was permanent chairman of G, Mills, McKay, and Co., Ltd., manufacturers, of Stockport. He was Sheriff of the City of London in 1922. His widow, whom he married in 1903, is the former Vera Singer, a daughter, of Augustus Singer. Sir Georgeywas a son of George John McKay, of Kendal. : /
