FRIESLAND WELL FANCIED

(Special from "Limited.")

HAWERA, This Day. Several Hawera horses missing from

the acceptances for the first day at Wanganui are to be. sent down for the' concluding day.

Friesland, Lickem, and Lowenberg were put yesterday morning doing light exercise, the first-named on the lead. The trio look well, and have benefited by their outings at New Plymouth, Friesland especially will be seriously considered for his engagement. A longer distance would favour Lowenberg's chance more.

* The hunter Bimbo, usually a safe jumper, was unfortunate at New Plymouth, falling each day. He has more pace "than the average hunter, and, with a decent run, may be prominent in this class of event at Wanganui.

Master Limond looks all the better for his racing, and will be more suited by the extra distances in his races. J. Leach has been engaged to ride him tomorrow, and H. N. Wiggins will be on him on Saturday.

All going well Notium is to take his place in the open-six on Saturday.

T. Fryer brought back with him from New Plymouth the six-year-old Fox Moth. Although on the small side, this mare is possessed cf pace, and has won' races in the Auckland Province, where she was formerly trained at Takinini. She is by Romeo from Midget, by Elysian, and is owned by Mr. McKinley, of Auckland.

The Vaals mare Kia Ora was again unlucky at New Plymouth, adding another couple of seconds to her already large number of placings. Fryer had her looking better than last season, having adopted a changed method of working her which proved suitable, and she should not be long in rewarding her connections.
