LOWER HUTT CONCERT.
The concert held last Sunday night in the King George Theatre, Lower Hutt, in aid of funds for the Plunket Society was a great success. Despite heavy rain the theatre was almost full, those attending thoroughly enjoying the programme. A short community sing was held. The duties of stage manager were ably carried out by Mr. J. M. Carlson, who was assisted by Mr. Asheton Harbord as announcer. It is not known to what extent the funds of the Plunket Society will benefit, but the indications are that the amount will be over. £20. A donation by Messrs. Hoddinott Bros, defrayed the cost of printing the tickets used' for the occasion. The concert was organised by the Lower Hutt. Civic Band, and the duties of honorary secretary were carried out by Mr. H. H. Elmes. j
