■ The results of the first round matches in the- Sievwright Cup,- playrid during the weekend, were as follows:—H. B. Carruthers (19) • beat-C Stewart (15), 3/and 2; S. J. Wilson (23) beat H. Wilson (14), 2 up; W. Taylor (9) beat J. R. Clements (20)-. 4 and 2; A. D. Clark (14)- won by default from H. J. Shanks (15); J. O'Brien (14) beat F. A. Wells (8), 3 and 2; S. .Ward (13) beat R. Fattison (17), 2 up; F. W. Andrews (12) beat U. P. Calcinai (15) after replay, 4 and 2: A. V. O'Brien (17) won by default from W. H. Kelly (11). The draw for the second round, which must be played on or before September 11, is as follows: —Carruthers and S. ■J. Wilson; W. Taylor and A. D. Clark; J. O'Brien and S. Ward; F. W. Watkins (12), each 1 down; H. Wilson (11), 2 down. The fourball best-ball bogey re- j suited in a triple tie, P. Kennedy and j H. B. Carruthers, A. E. Watkins and I A. G. Mjnifle, and J. Ryan got a rousing reception when he paid the customary' penalty for doing a hole-in-one the previous weekend at the fourth hole, 183 yards. This is the sixth time this season that a hble-in-one has been done by Mornington players. • .
