PETONE CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Petohe Amateur'- Club's championships were held on Saturday. The wet weather and the'nearness of the provincial championships affected the number of rider* entering. . There were five riders in the senior race, but only two finished. The course was to the Rimutaka foothills and back, a distance of 50 mile's. C. Biggs (scr) was the first home, his. time being 2hr 31min ~.44s*c:. ;A. Cook (lOmin) was nejct.... The. other riders came back in the official car. In the junior race the course was to Stokes Valley afnd back to the Heretaunga Boating Club's sheds, a distance of 16 miles. Kent showed a revival fit form to win and McDonald rode his usual -solidi race.l There. : ; were seven, starters.. The result was as; follows:— H. Kent fscr), 41min :42sec, 1;: R.
